Woodford Piazza Restoration

Historic restoration of Woodford Mansion ’s 1770s era piazza on the west elevation of the 2-story main house began with a research investigation of documentary, archaeological, and extant physical evidence, profiled in 2017 by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission. Funded by a generous grant from The Dietrich Foundation, construction of the Piazza was launched in 2019. MBTA’s prior work with the Naomi Wood Trust included restoration of the Mansion after a devastating fire in 2003 , and assistance with creating an interpretive model to demonstrate the building’s complex construction chronology to visitors.
